Charles Vaughn is a partner of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP in the Atlanta office, where his practice focuses on corporate finance, securities offerings and regulation, corporate governance, including counseling audit, compensation, and special committees, and related matters.
Over the past 30 years, Charles’ career has spanned a variety of legal representation and transactions. He has represented issuers of real estate-related securities and has served as outside securities and corporate counsel to four public financial technology companies. Charles devotes a significant portion of his practice to counseling public companies about compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the Dodd-Frank Act, and related SEC regulations. He regularly represents sellers of family and other closely held businesses and has served as an expert witness in a federal case related to the closing of a multi-billion dollar merger of two public companies.
Charles serves on the Board of Directors in the Business and Finance Section for the Atlanta Bar Association and also on the Advisory Board for the University of Georgia Honors Program. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Georgia and earned his Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt Law School.
